ok i keep hearing about native americans complaining about mascot names, and i honestly dont understand the fuss,i mean i 100 percent agree with the redskins,i mean theres no way a team called the blackskins or whiteskins would be accepted so why should this, but as far as the other teams such as the chiefs, seminoles, any team named indians, i think it should be an honor,i mean i think those teams should donate money to local tribes around their areas but i mean if there was a team called the kansas city french settlers i would feel happy the recognize my heritage.also if we change these names when does it stop?will hurricainne victims demand the U of Miami to change their name?will people with growth disorders demand a new mascot for the giants?i've already heard peta is grumbling about animal mascots.i mean come on it's just a name.
ok i had to vent thanks guys,

I don't believe you but I do agree that it is bullshit.......the names are there to pay respect to the indians, not to make fun of them.

It seems to me that the people who genuinely have problems with such nicknames are the overwhelming minority.

Most people don't give a rip, IMO.
