"It's been a century-long modus operandi for every black liberal politician: Blame Whitey. And for years, white America surrendered the race card trump, placating racial rabble-rousers with over 10 trillion dollars of social programs. Not enough. They created racial preference laws. Not enough. They laid every guilt trip possible on white people. Not enough. Well, not this time. See, Whitey wised up. We know black people cause modern Black America's great plagues. Newt Gingrich doesn't run around knocking up 14-year-old black girls. Black men do. Ronald Reagan didn't gang bang and murder in the hood. Black men do. Rush Limbaugh doesn't coax black people into government servitude. Black liberals do. And certainly, William F. Buckley never advised black people to speak English like Jar Jar Binks. Black people do. And in New Orleans, George W. Bush didn't ignore evacuation warnings, abandon poor black people trying to leave, loot the city and shoot rescuers. Black people did. Black people caused and could have prevented this entire tragedy, and when white people tried to help, black people literally tried to kill them. That is a fact... To be certain, this isn't an indictment of all black people, though it's certainly a wake-up slap to a large black majority who listen to these cretins. It is, however, a direct accusation against liberal race prostitutes who dominate popular black leadership, create misery and mayhem in the black community for self-aggrandizing personal power, and then detestably blame White America, insisting we don't understand the plight of black people." —Tom Adkins

Your dad is a racist.

There are so many things wrong with that asinine letter it's far too easy to respond to, but I don't want to waste even that time on something so poorly written and terribly inaccurate.

i wouldnt consider my pops to be a racist... though this statement is way too vague in regards to who the author is speaking to, there are some very fine arguments being made whether or not you choose to accept them... and i also think a lot, and i mean A LOT, of america would agree with many of the things this man says... im also sure many conservatives are passing this email forward

my dad and me are on opposite ends of the political spectrum, and though i dont buy into this guy's every word, i also agree he makes an argument worth a rebuttle, not something to be tossed aside because it doesnt fall under your belief system :?

that's the thing with both sides of the political fence.... where my dad would think you are a nutjob for your beliefs, you do the same thing back... and that is why nothing will ever, ever be solved... a bunch of stubborn people fucking up things for the rest of us trying to meet somewhere in the middle...

i also find it humorous that you act like this is something not worth your time, whereas i guess all of your 8,638 previous posts have been... whatever

who can you blame then, its white males that make probably 90% of the decisions in this country?

OMG, this letter writer is a real asshole to hold Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich as moral pillars

Could you perhaps highlight the justifiable parts? I'm personally having a hard time finding anything that is even close.

I understand what you're saying, pja. While this is clearly written from the point of view of a right-wing true believer, I think a fair amount of the problems facing poor and/or black societies need to be solved by the people themselves.

It was written by someone who really, really hates blacks. That's for damned sure.

I don't know if I'd say hate. But it definitely seems to be written by somebody who doesn't think that whites had much, if anything, to do with the current situation of poor blacks. Thus, he feels that whites have no responsibility in improving said situation. I disagree, as most of these ideas apply to poor people in general, not just poor blacks.

I'd be more sure that the writer has never had a conversation with a black person longer than a minute or two while nervously waiting for his car to be ready at Midas.

PJA, while I would agree that there are certain points to be addressed buried in the filth of this email, I think you knew that posting that in the form it is couched would simply elicit the response it did in this forum. We have certainly had some intelligent discussions on race problems and black responsibility here, but to open the discussion with that particular email is just going to inspire criticism of the email and its write for the first page or tow at least, if it EVER gets to the real issues underneath.

Just to be clear, I know this does not reflect your views.

I am in the middle. It's people who think it's ok to believe in shit like the forwarded email you posted that are fucking it all up for us here in Middle America.

Who the hell is Tom Adkins anyway?

no... but i do agree there comes a time for a people to pick themselves up on their own and get shit done... i have no problem with affirmative action and the billions of dollars donated to help their cause... but someday, somehow, you have to quit making excuses and get shit done... that's the thing... it's like 100 years from now, they will still be pissed off about the same shit and nothing will ever get better that way... i know there are many black-americans who do great things and are trying their damndest to get their fellow man off their ass... but as long as we accept it, and donate, and contribute, and see NO CHANGE, then it's almost as silly as the war on drugs... and i mean no change in the sense that the poor are usually just getting poorer even with all the opportunities put in front of them... producing more gangbangers than high school graduates... no matter how shitty a school is, a kid has an opportunity through school to get out of poverty and out of the ghetto

and in defense of my dad... he grew up poor as shit and didnt have very good parents... but he got off his ass and made a lot out of nothing... so it's probably hard for him to feel too sorry for people...

i also think that many conservatives and even some liberals (sorry to use these two forbidden words) will agree with some of this jerkoff Adkins sentiments

I dont think this adkins fellow or any of his peers have grown up in poor rural enviroments. Which for better or worse I did and I can testify that there are PLENTY of white people living of the gov't tit and they will continue to suckel the tit for generations to come. The only thing poor whites don't have to offer is gangs. Everyone wants to continually make this a black issue and i believe its a poor/poverty issue. People need motivation to get out of the cycle of poverty.

Not in some places, but I knew white gang members.

Yeah, I disagree with this as well. I grew up in a rural town of about 900 people, and while gangs weren't a huge problem, they were present. And since 99% of the population was white, so were the gangs. I don't think gangs are exclusive to blacks at all.

Not entirely relevant, but somewhat . . . I watched one of my all-time favorite movies again this past weekend -- Boyz In The Hood. I would recommend it to your father and tell him to pay particular attention to Furious's speech in front of the billboard to Tre and Ricky . . . Enlightening stuff.
