Now this is gonna stir it up a bit. Tito is a great guy and commend him for winning the series last year. I am a huge sox fan. However, he sucks as a manager. Think about how long he sticks with pitchers, think about his mismanaging of the bullpen all year this year, and don't even get me started on strike out king Belhorn getting every shot possible to fuck up this year before Theo finally stepped in and released him when he got hurt. Thank GOD! anyways lets see what everyone thinks about good ol' Tito...frankly he's no better than he who should not be named (hint = GL)

Show me a manager you can't second-guess eight way to Sunday. You can't. There is no one out there that does a perfect job. Yes he's made some mistakes, but the f'n guy brough the title here and he's got the mish-mash team that's had no bullpen, hardly any schilling, manny's being manny-ness, Millar, more than a half-season of Mark with a K Bellhorn (all apologies L_S), the fourth outfielder throwing a fit and demanding a trade (Payton), the fifth outfielder out with an achillies injury (Kapler) and all the other day-to-day bullshit that goes with being the manager in Boston and has had them in the race all year long and just one game out with four to go, and tied in the WC.
Me, I give him a pass. He's okay in my book. How quickly we forget Grady Little.

Bobby Cox is the only manager I would never, ever question. Maybe Torre.
The Red Sox would win between 90 and 104 games no matter who was managing them. Francona has a terrible pitching staff, he's done fine to have them where they are.

I agree, Francona has done a good job. With the resources this year, I think its impressive the Sox are where they are. Many times the bullpen has just had Timlin, and not much else. Embree, so good last year, also just fell apart. Timlin has played in a record number of games this year. If you've got nobody to bring in, you got to stick with the starter. With Paplebon and Hanson just coming up, the pen hopefully looks better for next season.
The Sox will find a way into the playoffs, and have another shot at the World Series

even when he doesn't pinch hit for tim hudson in the eighth inning of a 0-0 game with one out and a runner on third, then doesn't take him out in the ninth until he's given up four runs?
bobby isn't the greatest game manager in the world. he's not even close.

Papelbon's starting next year, the only reason he's in the bullpen is because they're concerned about the # of innings he's thrown this year

my problem with him is how he sticks with guys...once again Olerud has been lost on the bench while Millar plays just about every day, doing NOTHING
and Bellhorn too...everyone said "oh, well, he's your #9 hitter, you can't expect much offensively"...Graffanino and even Cora has proven that whole theory to be BS
and where is Manny Del Carmen?

Papelbon into the rotation? Okay, hes got a good arm. But whose the odd men out if everyones healthy
Schilling
Wells
Clement
Wakefield
Arroyo
Miller
Miller is perhaps the obvious one to cut, but that still leaves one too many. Who would you go with Matt?

No way, Miller has electric stuff when healthy. Drop Clement. He fucking blows when it counts, has proven that with the Cubs and now the Red Sox.
Next would be Schilling because it's a moot point, if he's healthy then he doesn't have it anymore. He needs to sit for like an entire season if he wants to seriously consider continuing his career, ala Barry. Came back way too soon.
