i was just listening to the original version. it's simply amazing, and it astounds me how often people dismiss it. i agree that it's not as good as rubber soul -> abbey road, but it's still ten times the album most other bands are capable of.
I still can't decide between the original and naked versions, though. both are good in different ways...

I never did buy the reissue. It was stripped of all the strings and whatnot, yeah?

Yep. Not very good, although neither really was the source material.

no doubt man, and the stripped version is just as good...
and think of what album they would have done if they had put together the best songs out of this one and abbey road:

two of us
come together
something
across the universe
oh! darling
octopus's garden
I me mine
I want you (she's so heavy)
here comes the sun
let it be
because
I've got a feeling
the long and winding road
get back

possibly the best album ever...

Nick Cave's version is the best.

Yup, I saw Paul in Boston last Monday. he sounded amazing, and he played for 2 and a half hours!

I Got A Feeling was a highlight of the show for me. Great song.

maybe, but i think abbey road already is the best album ever as it stands now.

^^^ You cut out the best parts of Abbey Road: You never give me your money, and the closing medley.

Let It Be... Naked is superior in my opinion.

great songs, shitty production on all versions i've heard. the album doesn't do the songs justice.

Not as good as the 5 or 6 before. But there are still some absolute gems on this album. It's a little inconsistent, but still really good.

The thing that makes Let It Be...Naked better (besides the production) is that it includes Don't Let Me Down. I just with they would have kept Dig It.

Good enough record, though to find another Beatles record it is better than you have to go all the way back to Beatles for Sale.
