I saw this this picture in another thread:
and I've felt the need to rant a bit.
This kind of thing has been really annoying me (and has also been a big reason why I've been a bit quiet in this forum recently). I know plenty of Bush supporters, and can guarantee that they are NOT dumb.
Furthermore, I really think this kind of thing backfires, and fosters the stereotype of "elitism".
It definitely backfires. There are now several million people out there who will NEVER vote Democrat again, because Democrats are calling them dumb. People will remember that, some of them for as long as they live.
It would serve Democrats -- and the European elite -- well to realize that you can't win people over to your side by insulting them.

Yeah, fear works so much better!

Fear does work so much better.
If you meant that in a sarcastic tone, read my comment. If you meant it in a funny way, disregard this. That's the one thing I hate about the internet: it's a pain to figure out how someone was trying to say something.

I find politics fascinating because of stuff like this. I imagine they have a psychologist-at-large who is able to tell them how to keep the public scaredinto being docile sheep.

Am I one of them?

The only people who think republicans are dumb are democrats.

Hey, remember that thing the Guardian did trying to get Brits to volunteer to call people in that one Ohio county and tell them to vote Bush out? It was the only county in Ohio that Gore won that Kerry lost.

I'll second that Green. This type of language only drives more people away from the message liberals and moderate dems are trying to get across.

I'm at the point where I don't want to ever vote Republican or Democrat again simply because both sides insult the other for absolutely no reason at all. And, both sides use fear as a campaign platforum.
But, alas, I will probably still choose whichever one I think is less evil in each particular election....

Actually I take my last comment back. I know plenty of stupid people who agree with my opinions, but they agree for stupid reasons. I would hope that is how some of the more informed people on the right feel about someone like that guy from Missouri in the article StyChi posted.
