everybody is gonna laugh at me but i don't think this is fake at all...its sick that this guy is selling such a personal thing on ebay...somebody tell ten club and see if hes a member...
Seems lik the writing looks like Eddie's, but why would he write his full name on the tape? Doesn't make sense to me... esp. since it says Eddie Vedder and not somthing like just "from Ed" or something..

well, it seems the cat is out of the bag on this one. once i saw it was a 10-day listing i knew it was only a matter of time before it was seen.
here are my thoughts ... not saying i'm right ... just brainstorming thoughts as i did with a few people this morning
Initially, this tape seems creepy as hell. a tape for his gramma(sic)? wow, that's low, even for ebay. but then when you start to look at the tape, it looks an awful lot like this one:
The cassette is teh same type, and you will notice that it is a hand-made photocopied j-card. this is consistent with the demos that he made at that time. you can start to see that there is some image on teh j-card but of course for some reason the seller didn't take a photo of the front of the jcard. this one has the songs "faith" and "i'm open" on it and on the spine, it looks like it says "pete is on its way".
someone already made a good point, why woudl you send your grandmother a tape and say it was from you by writing your full name. my guess here is that this might not be the only copy of this demo and that there might be more. so say he made a handful of them and put his full name on all of them. then set one aside for his grandmother
it also has the same handwriting style as the demo shown above.
so is it real? probably. is it still kinda creepy? yeah, i'd say so. do i still want to hear it? probably. oy .... these are the worst kinds of collectibles =)[/i]

Some nice points but how about this:
That guy on ebay finds TFT and a story about Eds demo tapes with nice pictures in high res. Buys the same tape, looks for a similar picture on google, 3 minutes of photo editing and the basic artwork is done. Then faking Eds handwriting is kinda easy cause he usually uses block letters.
If you ask me i could come up with a similar tape in less than 3 hours...
Who knows. Maybe we should talk it into a fake thing on public message boards from now, throw together, buy the thing for 150 and see whats on it...
