This was my first time seeing Ryan Adams, and it might be one of the GREATEST shows i've ever witnessed. He played his main set in chronological order and nearyl played until midnight but was cut off by Pageant Management (you could see them franticly waving flashlights toward the soundboard around 11:45). The set list went...
To be young
winding wheel
sweet carolina
why do they leave
come pick me up
new york new york
when the stars go blue
harder now that it's over
La cienga just smiled
tennesse sucks
chin up cheer up
cry on demand (solo)
she wants to play a game of hearts(solo
this house is not for sale
love is hell
anybody wanna take me home
do not let me go(aborted)
do not let me go(reggae)
do not let me go(punk)
do not let me go(death metal)
wonderwall (solo)
encore
solitaire (jesse & ryan)
rescue blues(piano)
He has great interaction with the crowd. During Cry on Demand he stoped to play the piano bit but forgot the part then said "That is some sad bastard bull shit right there" and continued playing the song. During "This House is Not for Sale" (also dedicated to Bill Clinton "We need to drag that fucker back into the White House") Ryan broke a sting on his guitar and the band stopped. "If i were a professional i'd just keep going and smile a lot! But i'm not,...I'm not Shania Twain and i dont have CRAZY TITTIES to fall back on"
He also spent about 10 minuets telling the crowd about a cheesburger he ate that day and a resturaunt called CRAZY BOWLS! Which he made several referances to all night long. If the rock n roll thing ends for him someday, he should consider a job in stand-up comedy because he had me and everyone else laughing our asses off. If he comes to a town near you, definately check it out.
Thanks for the review i hope i will hear him play live someday too.... i really like his sound and the atmosphere u speak of sounds like a kick ass show! after hearing the 'brian adams - summer of 69' incident i didnt think he had a sense of humour..
any idea what he refered to with this remark?

He was playing the song Cry on Demand solo/acoustic and he stoped to play the piano bit that comes after the chorus but forgot the part and tried (and faild) to recover.
