I think it's bullshit that Steeler fans can't buy tickets to the game tonight. If they want to buy a ticket, they have to purchase tickets to (I think) two other San Diego games. WTF??
half the NFL thinks their GM is a jerk - maybe he had something to do with it?

The only way to buy tickets to a Jets game is to buy a season ticket. Of course the list for season tickets is 20,000 names long.
the Giants have something called Ticket Exchange where people on the waiting list can buy tickets directly from season ticket holders. A few of my friends have been able to go to a lot of games that way. Do the Jets do this?

the Knicks do this too, and I stupidly TWICE got to see a game from the first row under the basket. it was in-fucking-credible to watch a game that close, but at $295/ticket, it was a little nuts.

the Knicks might have the most expensive tickets in all of pro sports. Now Dolan wants to build a new MSG...which will make the tickets even more $$.

Yeah the Jets used to call it stubhub and the Jets ticket office ran things. This year they turned it over to ticketmaster.

Is this the only franchise that does this?
They do it because of Raider fans. When the Raiders play (once a year) in SD all the fans from LA come down and sell it out. The stadium would be a 50/50 split between Charger fans and Raider fans. So the Chargers came up with the rule that you can't buy tickets to just one game. This sells more tickets to other games and helps to keep it a true home game (rather than having half the crowd root for the visiting team).

I think it's fantastic. Home crowd. Home field should be a real advantage.

Right, buf if you're going to make it a rule for San Diego, don't you think that's the way it should be for any game?
I went to a Steelers/Bengals game in Cincy with about 40 other guys from club I belong to, and the Bengal fans were saying...."hey, we love when we play the Steelers, it's the only time we sell out". And they were nice about it. Of course, this was a few years back.
