Always makes me crack up when announcers think they're part of the team. Did you guys hear those crazy Falcons announcers taunting Vrabel yesterday? Give me a break.

Cal, Berman's not a Red Sox announcer. He's national. There aren't too many national guys that are widely respected by anyone.

Wes Durham is on the Falcons Radio network and Vrabel deserved it.

Durham is one of the best in the business and he calls it like he sees it.

Too bad they couldn't call out that official that said Schaub was out of bounds on 4th and 1 (unreviewable) when the replay clearly showed him in bounds.

I'm not taking anything away from the Pats, but there's nothing wrong with that call, or calling officials out when they clearly blow calls that can change the course of drives and consequently severely effect the outcome of the game.

Tom Brady is a master, and Durham gave Brady and Vinateri all the credit they deserved, Vrabel was screaming at the official and the falcons sideline when they had him on replay calling for a time out. He deserved it.

Chris Berman is awful and should have quit play by play 15 years ago. No one wants to hear him call a game other than himself. Back back back back, shut the fuck up Chris, retire already.

I heard that and actually liked it. At least they were obvious about it. I have been listening to the Yankee game on radio as i watch the football game. I do it because the yankee announcers are so biased that it makes me laugh my ass off. it's pathetic. But they pretend to be non-biased which is a complete joke. I listen to the Colts on radio when they are on TV even though it's like a half a second behind the actual play. I still don't know their names but i like them. Maybe it's because of my bias towards baseball, but i think they are much worse than the football announcers when it comes to announcing

Mickey Redmond is one of the best local announcers I've heard. Yeah, he's biased to the Red Wings, but he also knows his shit. He's definitely pulling for the Wings, but he also calls them out when they fuck up.

The greatest non-biased team announcer I've heard is Ernie Harwell. I miss him immensely.

you see i wouldn't know this because nearly all of the ESPN games are also shown on NESN, except the playoffs and I didn't get to watch any of the playoff games, I had them all on radio because i was travelling.

As for the falcons guys, i only heard what they played on ESPN, not the whole call. Also didn't see much of the game, just bits and pieces. I had to shoot a wedding on Sunday so i only got to peak in here and there. I saw the guy nail the long FG before the half but didn't know he had just missed one on the T.O. play. I just thought his "stick it in your pocket was a bit over the top."

If i recall correctly, the steelers guys are horrible too. Can anyone else comment on them?

the dude Pittsburgh had who sounded like Johnny Most just retired, i think his name was Myon Cope or Pope or something. they are horrible, but funny when the Patriots are kicking their team's ass.

I thought it was great. I think you're just upset cause it happened to the Pats.

not really that upset, just found it kind of cheesy for an announcer to taunt a player like that. Heck Joe and Jerry are big-time homers for the Red Sox, but they aren't really that biased and I never thought that the Patriots guys have been, if anything they've leaned the other way over the years.

I think I've heard Harry Kalas refer to the Phillies as "the good guys" on a number of occasions, although that's not really that bad in my opinion.

I can do without every Yankee annoncer except for Kaat and Singleton.

Kaye, Waldman, and Sterling are just awful.
