 Post subject: My brother bought me a Cubs hat...

he was in chicago. bought me a fitted cubs cap.


its really keen, but im a Ranger lifer, so im having reservations about wearing it.


what does everyone think? i really love the hat. but im not a big cubs fan (though i do claim them as my national league favorite)...

Keep it for posterity. That way your grandchildren's grandchildren's grandchildren's can pull it out the next time the Cubs are in the playoffs.

I'd wear it. It's not like they're in the same division or even league as the rangers, so it's not going to get in the way. Also, with the Cubs, it's not like you're jumping on a bandwagon here. Save it for special occasions, like formal dinners.

i couldnt do it. i bought a cubbies hat when Eric Karros got traded there, and I just couldnt leave the house with it on, didnt feel right.

Why would you even think about wearing a Cubs hat if you're a "lifer" for another team? This makes no sense to me; the same way people are "fans" of more than one team in one sport.

I don't have a problem with people rooting for another team if your team is out of it, or if you like certain players on another team. But, being a "fan" of a team is something else. I'm not going to start wearing a Packers hat because I like Brett Favre.

Exceptions to the "rooting" rule are anyone who likes the Yankees, of course. They're all douchebags.
