I did a search and nothing came up for this movie, which I'm sure is inaccurate.
This movie is a must see. If you've passed it by thinking it's a boring documentary and you wouldn't be interested in such a stupid thing, you're probably wrong. This thing was done perfectly. It's funny, informative and scary all at the same time. The results of this guy's, (Morgan--writer and director) experiment were astonishing.
If you aren't familiar with Supersize Me at all, it was spawned from the legislation involving two girls who were obese and suing McDonald's for their obesity. Morgan decided to find out exactly what would happen if you tried to live off of McDonald's food. He ate it for 30 days, every single meal. Rules included: 1. He had to eat everything on the menu at least once. 2. If the cashier asked him to super size it, he had to. 3. He's from New York, so he forced himself to only walk as much as the typical American does. I believe that's about 5,000 steps a day. New Yorkers average 4-5 miles a day.
I think the most interesting part of this movie was the segment on schools. McDonald's is a place that people choose to go to. And although students, in reality, COULD pack their lunches, many of them don't and don't have parents that have time to in the mornings either. Excuses excuses I know. But as a replacement, shouldn't schools be providing food that is healthy? That is lower in sugar and fat and higher in nutrition? Maybe a little less prepackaged food?
Anyway... the movie was great and a delightful surprise. If you see it and have any interest at all, grab it. At the very least, it's fun to watch this guy eat McDonald's and get fat in 30 days.

i just dont understand the appeal of this movie except to point a finger at mcdonalds. the premise of the movie is just stupid: a guy eats mcd's everyday for a month and becomes fat and unhealthy. i just think to myself "no fucking shit". i just think it would be like if i made a movie of how a punch a brick wall everyday for month and then report about how my hand is broken and deformed after 30 days.
regarding the girls who inspired the movie: if the guy was really moved that much he should have made a movie about exercise. as far as the girls go, anyone who sues mcdonalds for making them fat should be beat with a huge french fry.

More disturbing is the bonus feature about the indestructible fries. I also heard something about a woman who ate nothing but McDonald's for a month and actually lost weight. She did it much the same way Jared did with Subway.

this movie was funny and informative at the same time. if you enjoyed this you should check out his series on FX, 30 Days. That is if they show it again cause it was on over the summer. It was along the same lines as supersize me but it talked about other topics like minimum wage.

Would you expect to go into liver and kidney failure after eating McDonald's for 3 weeks? Fat and unhealthy is one thing, on the verge of death is another, and that's where he was heading.

dont get me wrong, ive heard great things about it, i just dont like those "preach to the choir" movies like fahrenhiet 9/11. im sure all the people who went to see this movie already have negative opinions of mcd's and fast food in general. and dont get me wrong, i dont eat fast food and ive read about what fast food chains to do their food, its just not something that sounds terribly interesting to make a movie about. however, after reading what AS had to say id actually like to see how sick this guy got and exactly what happened to him.

Have you read Fast Food Nation? It's a really good follow-up to that book.

It was pretty interesting man, I don't know what's stopping you other than prejudice. Sure, it's a little biased, but it's not like Michael Moore biased.
The guy goes semi-scientific with it. He estimates the average daily exercise of an american and keeps himself to that regimen. He has an army of doctors monitoring him to see what happens to him as he goes along.
Seriously, you've seen worse movies. Plus you get to see them talk to this dude who's eaten like 20,000 Big Macs

its more focused on the american marketing machine, corporate ethics, self control, moderation vs over indulgence, and social stigma brought on by all of the above. this is a far cry from the simplistic bashfest on fast food. its not "preachy" at all. i think every single american should HAVE to see this- perhaps Bush could include it in No Child Left Behind

exactly... it touches on so many more issues than just mcd's
and read fast food nation if you want, though it will be tough to ever eat fast food again afterwards... that book really got to me, and i pretty much cut back on eating fast food for the most part... ffn definitely impacted my fast food habits A LOT more than supersize me did

I didn't like that the guy was compared to Moore.
The movie is silly with a stupid experiment. It's obvious that you eat Mc Donald's all the time you will have blood, heart problems. That's why I feel the experiment is stupid.
And this guy experimenting with his own body... please.
I don0t know. It was funny and good for couple of hours to watch but after that, the film is one more.
The onñy positive point is that someone is agains Mc Donald's, but... was it necesary allt his experiment?
I don't think so

What I liked about the movie is that it showed how quickly it can get out of control if you eat too much fast food. Next time you drive past a McDonald's during lunch just check out the line. It's amazing how many people eat some sort of fast food at least once a day. Sure he took it to an extreme but the point is that this food just isn't bad for you, it could be deadly over time.

exactly....
I work in downtown philly and there are literally hundreds of options for lunch in any small area you walk. Anywhere you go will have a decent sized line, maybe up to 10 people. The 2 places I walk by at any given time and the line is literally out the door is McDonalds and Wendy's. I'm talking 40 people deep.
Some might say its because its cheap and fast but I walk a block away and there is a chinese food cart that I can get a full container of vegetables and white rice with brown sauce and hot chili sauce for $2, add chicken or beef for .50, shrimp for another buck. Shit.....you can have fried rice or lo-mein for the same price. What I'm saying is there are healthier options for cheaper. I don't know why people eat fast food regularly, I don't know if its all the advertising, the convenience or what. Maybe people just find it delicious and don't care what happens to them as a result of eating it.

The movie would indicate, and I've had conversations with nutritionists about other foods as well, that certain foods can be addictive. Sugar is extremely addictive. You'd be amazed if you cut sugar out of your diet completely (except for natural sugars of course) how little you crave it and when you have it how much you don't really want it. Not everyone craves McDonald's number 4 because they're addicted to the food because not everyone goes there once or twice a week (or more). But when you look at people that "can't stop eating", there's a reason for it... and it doesn't JUST have to do with will power. It's a bonafide addiction.

The movie shows you what a bad diet can do for you. That is all.
The problem I have w/ it is it only singleing out Macdonalds.(which you do have to do to make the movie worthwhile, I realize that) However, it could have just as easily been a non fast food restaurant like Olive Garden, Red Robin, Applebees etc. I gurantee those restaurants would get you fatter.

I agree whole-heartedly. Once again, I believe he was inspired by the lawsuit brought upon McDonald's. You don't have to be a fast food junkie to get fat. People that fry all of their home cooked food or eat 3 portions instead of one or drink fruit juice or Kool-Aid get just as fat.
