You should start by going into the record stor and buying everything they ever thought about releasing. Definately one of my favorite bands. I dont think you can go wrong anywhere with them.

Amen to that.

Emergency and I is their best album. The 2 preceeding it are a little more punky and crazy, while their finale, Change completes the maturation process.

Only 4 records and a couple splits/EPs/singles. Not much to collect, but I highly recommend all of it.

The Ice Of Boston can be found on The Dismemberment Plan is Terrified, and it's a great fucking song.

I have a few of their shows if anyone is interested, they're better live.

I remember being shattered when they broke up. Ironically, I haven't even listened to them much in the past couple of years.

I had Emergency & I but I sold it back to the record store. It's alright, but I could tell it was something I wouldn't listen to very often. "Life of Possibilities" "What Do You Want Me To Say" and "You Are Invited" were good, but the rest I remember being pretty forgettable.

Emergency & I was my #2 album in '99, second only to Built To Spill's "Keep It Like A Secret", which is probably top 10 all time for me.

in-fucking-credible album.

The Plan was way ahead of their time, and if I could be objective enough to compile a top albums list, Emergency & I would probably be near the top

besides local bands and maybe Sea Ray, i don't think i saw any other band so much in such a short period of time.

pretty sure i saw them 8 or 9 times from May 2001 to June 2003

best rhythm section in indie rock, bar none.

I saw them many times as well, since they were opening for Pearl Jam in 2000 and we also went to some of their own concerts. Great memories!

I was lucky enough to see them on Saturday...they were on fire! Seemed very happy to be playing together again, and I wouldn't be surprised if they get together again from time to time...
