Ed voice eras:
91 to early 92: Balls out Ed
mid-92 to 94: Vs. Power Ed + Sometimes tours are too long Ed
95: Vitalogy emotional ed
96: Ed not realizing he can't sing like it's 93 anymore
98 to euro 2k: The new Ed
USA 2k - 2k4: Ed learning to minimize losses in some areas, take advantages of gains in others
2005: Non-smoking Ed? (didn't he quit?) I've only heard a few shows, his voice sounds cleaner. How about "Retro 98 Ed" (in sound and hairstyle)

I think the 92-94 Ed was my favorite. I don't know if I'd call 95 emotioanl ed as much as Ed shieking on every song and ruining his voice Ed. I liked the 03 tour but thought this year was the best he had sounded in a long time.

i didn't really care for "new Ed" from the 2000 era, but i learned to like it. then this tour i suddenly hear booming powerful Ed again! (not as much as 92, but still...) it's great to hear!

In 98, his voice was very deep and sometimes raspy. I think that his voice is great now, and it was great in N.A. 2000. I think he tried to hard in 03.
Love the 94 Ed voice, but I've learned that is in the past and we won't be hearing that again.

yes, but this year may be the first time it changed for the better.
ummm... '00 to '03 was a great change IMO. His voice now is unbelieveable but sometimes on the slower songs (Nothingman...) he gets a little shaky.
i agree to a point, but i think alot of the reason he sounded so good in '03 was b/c the song from riot act sound much better live, especially the vocals. either way, his voice this year is the best ive heard since 1998

Ed was smoking it up at AC and Philly... I had heard he had quit too though, but apparently not the case.
Yeah he's still smoking. In Ottawa, where he said more pissed off then usual, he smoked a lot.

I think I liked 2000 the most, and I understand I am vastly in the minority, but I really loved that tour.
i am with you, his voice was awesome in 2000, but 05 was amazing too. i think he wont be powerful ed ever again, but definately is doing a great job with what he has!
