He has the whole package, plus he's more accurate and better in the pocket than his brother. Leinhart has had it easy with the talent around him. He seems to have Drew Bledsoe syndrome when he gets pressured. I think leinhart will be a decent pro QB but i see marcus Vick being a steal in next years draft. He'll be a McNabb type but more accurate and a quicker project than McNabb was as far as being one of the best QB's in the league. he doesn't have the rifle his brother has, but he has a quicker release and can throw the short ball much better than his brother. Plus he throws a more receiver friendly ball than his bro(something leinhart is great at too). I just think the quickness on his feet and short throw accuracy will make Marcus a great pro and a better pro than Leinart

Leinart also seems to have some of the best weapons in the country on his team. I gotta give him a lot of credit though, he has played great in big games. I just think he is lucky having Bush and White behind him. Va Tech doesn't half half the firepower that he Leinart has. Plus he doesn't have 7 teams in his conference with awful defenses.

Unless we win the national championship this year, Vick will most likely not be entering the draft. He's only a junior.

eh, ill believe it when i see it, i dont think you can really be sure how a college QB will do in the pros anymore, you have just as much chance of the #1 pick in the draft being the best as you do with the round 7 pick that you figure might be a decent back up.

I was just about to start a Ma. Vick thread. Thanks for saving me the trouble.

Leinart is damn good, but he's still overrated.

i think you're crazy if you think he's staying. He'll be a late first rounder for sure, probably a top 15 guy realistically. NFL QB's are dropping like flies and they want help ASAP. Plus Vick has had problems in college. They probably want to get him out there before he does something else stupid

Just by taking a look at senior QBs who are doing well right now you got Leinart, Cody Hodges, DJ Shockley, Brodie Croyle, and Drew Olson. Not to mention juniors who have lots of experience who could leave early like Brady Quinn, Vince Young, and Drew Stanton. The lack of experience should be enough to keep Marcus out of the draft, but then again you have some quality QBs on that list where he probably fits somewhere near the middle or towards the bottom at this point in time. His brother finished 3rd in Heisman voting during his freshman year, but yet he still stayed. I think Marcus will do the same to get another year of starting games under his belt.

Leinhart will be a bust as a pro but I can't say that Vick will be any better. You now have both vick cocks in your openings. Clubber is now on a Vick rotisserie.

Leinhart has too big a head coming out of LA and being as big as a star as movie stars in LA. He might be talented but has too much to live up to and his head wont be in it enough to be a good NFL QB. Vick is overrated because of his brother. That team is good because of that D. Stick 90 out of the 120 D-1 QB's on that team and they are still a top 10 team.

I think some of you guys are underestimating Leinart.

This kids' got it - and when I say "he's got it" I don't mean that he'll be having an ok career in the NFL. If he keeps progressing like he is, he's going to be a shoe in hall of famer.

Sure, he's got some good receivers....but what quarterback can really shine without quality receivers? Not to mention a good offensive line and good running backs. The only way a QB can truly shine is when he's got the means to shine. Once he gets the means, then he has to show off his ability and that's what separates an average QB from a great one.

You can have the best line, receivers, etc... in the world but if you can't read the secondary or you just plain crack under pressure, you're screwed. Leinart has done the exact opposite of all that.

As far as the speed issue goes, most of the greatest QB's of all time ran about as fast as a turtle. Look Tom Brady....sometimes I think even I could outrun the guy. Speed means nothing when you've got an insane amount of pocket presence and a release that's as sweet as honey.

Now here's a guy that's truly overrated.

I think there's a big difference between a football player and an athlete and a football player Vince Young is not.

He's got a better chance at being an NFL receiver than he does at QB. He's spent the majority of his college career relying on his speed and agility (which is absolutely amazing) because college linebackers just can't keep up with him. I think he'd be eaten alive by NFL linebackers.

I wonder if in 2002 if anyone posted the same thing about say...Carson Palmer and Byron Leftwich. Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf...etc..

I would place my bet on Leinart.

with the exception of Steve Young, i dont think todays scrambling QB's will win Super Bowls.

my thinking is that when you have a guy like Mike Vick, hes not a true thrower and hes not a true RB. so where most QBs, the Bradys, Bulgers, Mannings, have to decide where to throw and if they should just dump it off or throw it away, a scrambling QB is thinking about where to throw it, or should i just take off, or should i scramble around and wait for an open guy....too many decisions going around in their heads, its a lot for a human to think about and decide in seven seconds.

Id take a pure passer any day and have a great RB next to him
