Around the Sun sales will be interesting seeing apparently it has done poorly.

ATS isn't doing that great in America, but it's doing very well around the world.

I think ticket sales are doing poorly here... they haven't sold out the Rod Laver Arena yet, and tickets have been onsale for like a month? PJ sold that baby out in like 15 min, and did 3 sold-out concerts there, last year.
As for records, I don't know. I think they do better here than in the US.

yeah,their official websight lists all the countries Around the Sun is in the top 10.
In the US,it bombed.But zero tv performances?I bet if they went on SNL and played the pop candy that is "Wanderlust" and played the intense "The Outsiders" with Q Tip, Around the Sun would go back in the charts.

Also-I love "Leaving New York" and the "Aftermath" but usually the most poppy,mainstream song is the first single.U2's first single is "Vertigo" not
"Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own".

Also-all the new releases from "Classic Alternative" bands sold around the same amount as REM in the US (like The Cure,Morrissey,PJ Harvey,Bjork,Social Distortion,etc).The small loyal fans in the hundred thousand buy it,and the rest of the 300 million people couldnt give a shit.

I bet PJ's album sales also will just get smaller and smaller.Riot Act sold 450,000,the next one will sell 200,000.

I'd give a testicle to be so successful that a record that barely goes gold is considered a bomb.

shit. for most bands 100,000 is considered a huge success.


hell, any is a success for quite a bit of people. so, meh. I think that as long as the bands enjoy what they are doing then record sales probably dont matter. most bands where an album that barely goes gold is considered a flop are set for life.
