Pearl Jam - No Fuckin' Messiah

Just found this at the used record store and picked it up for $8.99. I don't know if it is a bootleg or an import. The back says it's made in Italy and produced and distributed by "Why Not? s.r.l." in 1994. It has a barcode and everything which makes me wonder if this was released in Italy. Anyway the track list is as follows:

Recorded during Saturday Night Live on April 16, 1994:
1. Not For You
2. Rearview Mirror
3. Daughter

Recorded in the United States in 1993 with a special appearance by Steve Cropper:
4. (Sitting On) The Dock of the Bay

Demos:
5. Angel
6. I've Got A Feeling
7. Alone

Live from Atlanta, April 4, 1994. Two new tracks:
8. Better Man
9. Already In Love [Satan's Bed]

October 1993 Live in California with Victoria Williams:
10. Crazy Mary

Live in Rotterdam, Holland on July 16, 1993:
11. Three Days

Live March 9, 1993 Pensacola Florida:
12. Small Town
13. I Won't Back Down

Live from the Virgin Megastore in Paris:
14. Wash
15. Alive
16. Black
17. Porch

Anyway, I'm trying to find out how rare this is and if I made a good buy. Could I have gotten it for less somewhere like ebay? Or are they being sold for quite a bit elsewhere? Also, does anyone else know of this or own it who can tell me of its orgins (if it was actually released in Italy)? Either way a very cool surprise for me to find I think...

It's an unofficial bootleg made by a company who stole fan recordings (or just recorded it off tv) Not worth anything

You can find it pretty easily in record shops that sell bootlegs. I got it for $20 years ago in a shop downtown NYC. All the stuff on there is on other discs too so it's not that rare. There's also a second disc called More Fuckin' Messiah but I think it's on a different label. Everything on there is available elsewhere also.

I've had that one for some time. It has some decent stuff on it, Sonic Reducer and History Never Repeats were on there before they were X-mas single tracks. Decent, but nothing you've never heard really.

I used to shell out a ton of money for this shit before interweb trading. Now it is pretty easy to find.

Me too. I have a ton of expensive Nirvana-bootlegs, and a few by PJ and Smashing Pumpkins.

I loved the old days. Checking every record store you crossed for a new unofficial bootleg, I was always so psyched when I found one. My favorite was probably "Rare Traxx 3".

it is worth as much as you were willing to pay for it. you could have gotten the songs on it and made it yourself but it is nice to just through that in your player and go. i love the betterman and dock of the bay versions on it.

i just found one called "Anxiety" yesterday. it's the 11/4/95 show from San Jose. Getting ready to listen to it here in a few. pretty interested in it as it is a show that was on my birthday.
*oh, and it was $14 and some change. Digital Planet rules.

I seen a pile of PJ singles at a used store once. I did not buy them.

Who do you think is the person who sold them to the store?

oh it was Phil Smith of Ellery Lane in Pottersville. He needed some quick cash. I think he said they gave him $30 for all of them.

I bet he used the money to buy drugs.

i have no idea. whatever i bought, it doesn't look anything like what that link's "Anxiety" does. It has "Pure Soundboard Blizzard Recordings" as the label. i found it, didn't have it, bought it, and listened to it. no idea where it came from nor how it got there, but i'm glad it did. 8)

That wasn't in 1993. It was March 26, 1994. Murfreesboro, TN. I was there.
