Hey guys,

New to the board. I just saw Sparta live yesterday and they were awsome. The first time I saw them was when they opened for Incubus and Sparta totally blew them away. After I saw that performance I went out and bought porclain and couldn't put it down. They're really in line with Pearl Jam- great rock band with great lyrics. Anyone else seen them live?

Sparta rocks

*Interesting Fact*
When Sparta's drummer got injured while on tour with Incubus, Jose Pasillas and Ben Kenny filled in for him while he recovered.

Nowhere near as good as At The Drive-In, but Sparta indeed rules. I suffered through Incubus just to see their 25 minute opening set, it was worth it.

They're mediocre at best, I don't know how they could have come from the greatness that is At The Drive-In.

its because they opened for PJ that i love them, i saw them open for Pj on $/28 at the spectrum in Philly, and i was fucking blown away , and i usually never like a band on first listen, the next day i rushed out to target and bought Wire Tap Scars, and i didint put it down for months

they are a fucking great band and i hate when people bring uop ATDI or mars volta when talking about sparta , they are all different bands and TMV arent in the same type of music as sparta so they are incomparable.

Sparta are great, i did have a thread in this forum about them , just look down

I love, love, love sparta. They are awesome. I saw them open for PJ and was really impressed.

They're first cd was good, but "Porcelain" is so much better.

I think the problem here is that Sparta like Death Cab for Cutie are not "area rock" like Pearl Jam. I dare you to go see Sparta or Death Cab in a small club with their fans and try to tell me they arent good live.

I was actually on south street while they were at the TLA last Tuesday night. I really wanted to go in and see them but I was down with my mom and i don't think she would've appreciated me ditching her on South street

I have their first CD but I got bored with it after a while, so I didn't get Porcelain.

Porcelain is a lot different and a lot better than their first CD. You should check it out.
