Not that either would ever get the Democratic or Republican nomination for such position. That aside I think if it were those two that Hillary would win. Can't see that many guys in those backassward states voting for a woman, but especially a black woman. So I think ignorance would win out on this one regardless of who was victorious. Of all the wonderful woman on this planet, to choose these two as the representation for woman is sad IMO.

agreed, but if elected they would not be any more a representation of all women than george bush jr is of all men.

I disagree, if someone is backassward enough to not vote for someone just because they're black, there's no way they'd vote for Hillary, because she's just as bad as a colored person. If anything, Rice would make them feel comfortable because she knows her place, and won't get uppity. :P

In that case, I hope its a showdown. That way your folk can underestimate the election, the opponent, and the people that will vote for her. You could be right, but I don't think you understand how much the guys in those backassward states hate Hillary Clinton.

Ya know. For a bunch of people against stereotyping and generalizing, you guys have been really good at it lately.

Frankly, I'd vote for Condi in a heartbeat. I'd love to see a Condi/Powell ticket.

It's only stereotyping if a rich person or a conservative does it. If a liberal does it then it's sociology.

This one would be a tough one for me. I dont like hilary, because i think she is just your basic garden variety politico. I don't like Condi, because even though I think she would be good, I think she sold her soul to work for dickless.

Doesn't about the half the country (if not more) think that she's the anti-christ?

I doubt Powell will run for office after Bush & Co. hung him out to dry.

What exactly has she done to make you think she would be good?

Or he could use it as a springboard. He could easily use it to convince the republicans upset with Bush/Cheney to vote for him.

Powell won't run, this is a fact. He's made it very clear that he's not interested in being an elected official. He's actually never run for office before. He's always been appointed. I don't think he's interested in the agony involved with an election. I just like him. I think he's a pretty solid person, even though he worked for a team that I'm not so keen on. At least he completed his duties for 4 years and then bowed out.

Agreed. Shame about the "hey, look at the ice-cream truck!!" debacle at the Security Council. Otherwise, Powell just seems like an utterly decent human being.

I actually think both women would be good. I think Condi is educated enough to be good. Its as simple as that and I detest Bush & Co. I also like that I have heard on some right-wing radio shows that she makes them(right wingers) nervous because they dont know if she is pro-life. My personal policy for elections '06 and '08 is to not vote for a white male
