Rearviewmirror. First song I learned (PJ or otherwise), now that I've really got it down it is such a fun song to play along with.

I've been playing Sad a lot recently.
But every time I pick up my guitar, I always start with Betterman.

I think a lot of their songs don't sound too good with only one guitar part, but off he goes, wishlist, betterman, drifting all sound good if you are going solo.

What are the best songs to learn on the acoustic? I just started playing like a month ago and have learned Elderly Woman, Black, and Long Road. Any others?

When I played guitar I learned even flow, alive, jeremy, and satan's bed, all of which were pretty easy. Satan's bed especially

Most definitely Porch- When I was in college, 3 or 4 of my friends would get together with guitars and jam out on that... We would come up with our own rantings in the solo part (a la MTV Unplugged)... I swear we must have jammed up to 20 minutes on that one song at times.

Now that I'm getting older, I'm do the acousitc (PJ) version of I Believe in Miracles, and Immortality.

It would be cool if you could stop by at least once to check it out, so you can at least tell me it is a big piece of crap. Thanks.

Meh, I've spent the past wee while since I read this playing through and trying to decide, still not sure, but there's a heavy Yield bias. Given To Fly or In Hiding if I'm in that kind of mood, Save You or Animal if I want to let rip, NAIS or I Got Shit if I want to take it down a notch. And as Angus said, Betterman always works.

I haven't been playing for much more than 2 years, but I play RVM, Corudroy, RITFW and part of All Those Yesterdays.

I need to take a lesson or something, I struggle.

My brother and I tried all last Saturday to play RITFW by ear, listening to like thirty different versions, with him on guitar and me on drums. It was a hell of a lot of fun...it is not something that should ever be heard. My brother is not a Pearl Jam fan, he just really liked it when they did it with Neil on MTV. For the record, his favorite version was Albequerque 2000, when Ed says, "Don't feel like Satan...Well Fuck 'em then"

I probably play Corduroy and Hail Hail the most, but I play 20-30 songs from time to time...some complete and some just riffs.

Corduroy
Whipping
Hold On
Sad
Insignificance
SOLAT
I Got Shit
Long Road
RVM
Go
Sometimes
Porch
Dissident ( just learned it recently)

And lots more. I tend to go thru the same batch of tunes. My 2-year-old loves Whipping and Corduroy and will dance her little heart out to them, so I play those a lot.

"Go" is my favorite PJ song to play on the guitar, but I also like "Tremor Christ", "Habit", and "Wishlist".
