Some moves are starting up, and I didn't know where else to put it, so here it is:
Quote:
Larry Bowa accepted the New York Yankees' offer to become the team's third base coach Thursday.
Luis Sojo has been the Yankees' third-base coach for the past two seasons. He's likely to be asked to move to first base if Bowa is hired to coach third.
"That's a demotion," Sojo told The Post of possibly being asked to vacate the third-base post to become first-base coach. "I don't know. I got to see what they are going to do. When I find out, I will make a decision. I like third base and I didn't do a bad job."
Quote:
HOUSTON -- New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman decided Wednesday to stay with the only team he's ever worked for, accepting a three-year contract worth more than $5 million.
Guess Cashman and Theo weren't just messing around with everybody...
Quote:
Oct 25 - The Boston Herald reports that Red Sox management and GM Theo Epstein remain apart in contract talks.
Epstein's present contract that pays him $1 million per year will expire on Oct. 31. He is believed to be seeking much more money, while the Red Sox are said to be offering far less than what he wants.
The Herald reports Epstein could leave the industry altogether if he doesn't re-sign with the Red Sox as he has a law degree and connections in the entertainment, business and political arenas.

the Dodgers are going to hire Terry Collins to manage their collection of losers.
Collins, who hasnt managed in 6 years or so, will be nothing more than a Depodesta yes man and the Dodgers will have 4 total stolen bases all year, just like depo wants....
Dodger fans are headed for a good ten years of absolute failure and misery, until McCourt goes broke or (hopefully) dies. well then hed just leave his pig wife in charge, either way we're all fucked.
the 2006 NL Central will be the 2005 NL West, only a little better.

burnitz probably walks, rusch probably gets signed, walker probably gets signed then traded (i think there's a club option on him).
garciaparra, i don't know. they have a young guy who looks like he may be ready, but there's talk of moving him to 2B. there's also tons of rumors of the cubs going after furcal.

i was expecting to read about the Cubs winning it all next year... or are you saving that post for April?

c'mon, i only homer it up for the NFL - everything else i try to be as rational as i can.
incidentally, i agree with your cards' FA assessment - the should probably blow that team up (within reason - obviously you keep pujols and such) and get what they can before it gets any older.

Konerko is a lock to go to Anahiem

And I don't think they'd break the bank to sign him. They have Kotchman who they really like. I see Boston making a big run at Konerko.
*orange County
I think Konerko said he wont go east?
money talks, my friend.
i think it'll either be boston or the south side, we'll see.
money talks, which is why i think hes going to anaheim. Moreno has the cash, and Konerko has made it known he is after money this offseason and that we is pissed at the Sox last offer.
I wish hed end up in LA, like he should have stayed all along.
