I'm stuck here in the UK and don't have the technology at my disposal to download any of PJ's Canadian shows, and that wonderful looking set at the Gorge.

So I am asking you guys who have heard thoese shows what the band are sounding like? What songs are sounding great? Which ones are not so good this time around?

Also I thought some of the 03 boots were abit light on the drums, infact you could hardly hear them on the more aggressive numbers, has that changed?

The band sounds great. Ed is doing some stuff with his voice that he's never done. Matt has become a force. He has taken each song into his own and his drum is turned up. Jeff is right on and loud. Stone and Mike are in typical rockin' fashion.

I'm in the UK but was lucky enough to catch a couple of shows on the Canadian tour. Send me a pm and I'll B+P some shows for you.

The band sounds great as usual, and I think they are enjoying experimenting with some things, but I will second the Matt Cameron comment. He's full of energy and kicking ass.

While Matt's kit isn't as powerful as it was in '00 and '03, it seems to have more oomph than the VFC tour. He opted for two toms this year (he only had one last year), and brought back the 3rd crash cymbal (let of the ride cymbal).
I'm really happy about the sound of the snare. It sounds crisp and sharp, and sounds perfect on slower songs. I remember hearing how everyone claimed how "flat" Matt's snare sounded in '03. It could be the mix though.

While Eddie does a great job on vocals, I must admit he's been pretty sloppy lately. He misses more parts than before and tries to cover it up by letting the audience sing. But I mean, the dude is over 40, and he does a damn good job for someone his age.

they sound great. My favorite tour after 94 and better than 03 (which I loved)

And eddie has people singing more, but mostly on the songs they do every night (even flow, black, betterman, small town, etc)-so I like it. Crowd interaction helps make a show.

He had 4 toms at the Gorge. And listening to all the boots, he's playing more than 2 toms. Are you referring to mounted and not counting floor toms? I haven't seen any dvd's from VFC, but I've never seen him play with less than 4 toms. He always had 4 with Soundgarden ( that' I've seen) and from what I can gather, has always had 4 with PJ.

( This is from a live standpoint, not what he uses in the studio).

Not including floor toms. I meant the mounted ones. He has always used 2 floor toms.

its as crisp as i've heard them in a while. I think the '03 tour was really sloppy, and VFC was even worse. I think the ear plugs they are using are working out well.

i think green disease sounded great, as did whipping.
