i was lookin at my ten cd yesterday and it seemed weird that release is the last song on the disc. i thought for about 5 seconds that i had a misprinted disc.

i guess all these years of them opening with the slow song at shows (especially release) has reprogrammed me. except for the fact that no code and riot act are the only discs that start with slow tracks.

anywho, maybe i should burn a new copy of ten with release at the beginning!

I actually think Release makes a perfect Ten closer. The album is very aggresive and angry and then they have this beautiful kind of closure. I do agree with you how hearing it open shows changes how we view it though.

The one song that I still wish opened an album is "Of the Girl" on Binaural

Then you would hear Master/Slave twice in a row.

Maybe I just cracked the code  :?:

i agree. that way i could play and stop the cd after 1 track instead of hitting the forward button 10 times.

i like 10 just the way it is. the opening riff to Once is perfect... it's like an announcement to the world that they have "arrived!".

i still get chills from time to time when i stick on Ten and once comes on. takes me back many many years to when it all began.
