Anybody excited for the season? The Sonics continue to be ignored by the 'experts" again this year. I hope they kick ass and give the writers a big shitburger to eat

As usual, the only thing I noticed about the NBA season starting was Tim Legler and Greg Anthony will now be on ESPN all the time. Nooooo!!!!! Why couldn't they stay gone?!?!?!?

I am actually excited about the Knicks for the first time in 5 years.

I know they wont win 50 games, but they should compete for a playoff spot and at least be watchable this year. should be fun

I like the young players, but their early schedule is brutal. Something like 13 out of the first 19 games are on the road with two west coast trips.

I saw that the other day. they will not start out great, but last year they lost a lot of games in the last minute, which under Larry Brown they will win more of those games than they did. If they can hover around .500 until January, when Knick teams traditionally rattle off a good 12-3 kinda streak, they may be ok.

my hero. I tuned in when after I truged to bed again falling asleep for the ending of MNF when instead of glorious football talk those too goons are talking about the most boring professional sport ever devised. College Basketball is great, I could care less about the National Boring Apathy.

with no hockey last year, I got into college b-ball for the first time...definitely a convert now...though it probably helped that BC started out 20-0

No they wont. Even the Pistons were brutal under brown on the early season west coast swings.

Having said that, its best for the knicks they are getting them out of the way early in the year... Cause those are tough to win, even when you are a good team, well versed in the system...

If your gonna lose some, best to get them out of the way, so you still have a chance to bounce back.

Yes, I agree, this year will be much more tolerable than the last 5, maybe some light at the end of the tunnel?

I'm waiting for the inevitable clash between Brown and Isiah. Isiah has far too much input than Brown will like. I figure mid-season either Brown storms out or Isiah is canned and Larry completely overhauls the team with players he can control.

Man, I hope Amare is good to go by the time playoffs come around. And the bright side, everybody else will be much better next season if he doesn't. I guess I'm one of the few people who actually believes they had a good offseason. I'll take Raja Bell, James Jones, Boris Diaw, and Brian Grant over Joe Johnson any day.

Amare's injury is going to kill them. They'll make the playoffs, but even if he's ready to go then, it's tough to jump right in at full-speed that late in the year.

I think they're still an above-average team without Amare. I bet they can make it a round or so into the playoffs without him, but they won't beat an elite team. They do still have two all-stars, they have way more depth, and they have a couple of decent defenders. Just missing the superstar.

For a funnier look at the NBA's dress policy, go here and look at the third video down (suit policy). I got a laugh.
