does anyone know why on lost dogs alone and wash and some other songs were redone by ed?

I think for continuity purposes. Lost Dogs flows together as an album in part because all of the vocals sound like they are from the same period.

It might also be as a way to reward fans who collected the old stuff. A slightly different version of the song.
