I have heard (from exactly where I forget) that the number of destructive natural disasters over the past ten years is more than that of the preceding century. Is there any truht to that or anything similar to that?

I'd have to see some numbers or an article to give any decent reply. This is way too folksy and popculture science for me.

As a result of globalisation, the world is a smaller place, we are more aware of what is happening world wide. It is therefore natural that we should note more natural disasters.

On a side note- the end is nigh.

The Debate Is Over

Maybe the heat in the atmosphere is making it easier for magma to get closer to the surface and cause volcanoes and earthquakes.
