This isn't directly related to Pearl Jam, but you're all nuts about your posters.
I've got my Uniondale '03 poster waiting to be framed. A few months ago, I'd ordered an 18 x 20 frame for it, but realized today that it's like a quarter of an inch to small on all sides.
Now -- what's the most logical/cost effective thing to do? I was thinking of buying a slightly larger frame and putting a mat down around it as a border. Would that work? Also, what kind of mat paper is the best? I don't want anything acidic that is going to kill my poster.
As for the original frame, I have a NIN poster that I guess I could put in there but it's too small for the frame. Would a mat work here?
Also, where's the cheapest place to pick up (acid free) frames?
Thanks

wow american frame kicks ass. I was just playing around with their site and it lets you upload an image of your artwork to see how its going to look. I'll definately be using them for my next round of frames.

when you order from americanframe.com do they also send you the plexi-glass or glass? is that part of the price?
yes, they send plexi-glass (i believe you can order different types). another plus is that they ship really fast. just make sure that you measure your posters before ordering because ames posters never seem to be standard size....

they had 3 different types as far as i could tell. regular plexiglass, an anti glare one, and an anti UV one (the latter 2 were the same price, which was twice the price of the regular glass).

I have conservation glass protecting my poster from fading over time.

I'm loving that feature on there - I was thinking a dark red or orange matting for my Ottawa poster, but playing around I found a very cool silver mat that matches the silver background designs (instead of the red lettering) and to me looks pretty damn cool. Same for Philly, I found a great blue mat that I'm hoping works well with the blues in that poster...

Padon my ignorance, but I can't find that feature on the site. Can you please take me by the hand and direct me to it?
Thanx!

once you pick a frame, it will take you to the frameshop and that is where you pick mats, glass, etc... and that is when you can upload a picture...
Exactly - choose your frame, color, etc, then on the right hand side of the screen, where all the specifics are displayed, there is a button near the top that says "Change Artwork" - click on that, and if you have a photo on your computer you can upload it there, or alternately plug in a url from the Expresso Beans site (find your poster on EB, then click the "DIY Framing Link", it'll give you a url for the image). Pretty cool.
