The topic for November 2005 is "Environmental Conservation."
Environmentalstewardweb From beautiful spaces to wildlife. All of us have an interest in seeing the world's natural treasures preserved. The trouble is, government agencies can't carry out conservation efforts alone. In fact, sometimes government agencies manage lands and wildlife poorly - whether it be megafauna parks in Africa besieged by poachers, or national forests in the US ablaze in fire. It seems that private landowners and non-profit organizations must do more to ensure that wild places are preserved - both for their amenities and for their own sakes.
So what is to be done? How can people who care about conservation share the burden of management and funding? How can we create better incentives and interest for folks to become better stewards of nature?
