The Wall is one of those albums I allowed to sit around and never get the attention it deserved. Until two days ago, that is. What a brilliant piece of work this is!

Did anyone else get the impression it was written to be a musical? Especially with the track "The Trial," I get these vivid images from the storyline. But maybe that's just because it's a concept album.

It's a great record, some very good songs and a interesting concept behind it.

I love it, it's my favorite PF album (and I've heard all of them) and it has my favorite PF song, "The Trial".

I love it, though I like WYWH and DSOTM better.

A great epic album, for sure, with some excellent songs ("Comfortably Numb" and "Hey You" come to mind), but I still think Dark Side Of The Moon is their ultimate album. But the great thing is, after years of my 15 year old sister listen to groups like good charlotte and linkin park, she's getting into Pink Floyd and in particular this album...thank god!! :D

Right, DSOTM was their pinnacle, though Animals and WYWH were not far behind. The Wall, however, is great but I think it gets written off by many music fans because of its success.

i'm a fan of the wall, but i can't consider it on the same level as dsotm and wywh because of the filler tracks and effects. when you have a bunch of minute long tracks and then something as brilliant as comfortably numb, it takes away from the overall effect, imo.

It's not at the same level as the aforementioned releases, however I must disagree with you on your point about the "minute long tracks." Some of them serve as transitional tracks, which help the story as a whole. But that's your opinion.

The Wall sucks as a whole. There are a few good tracks (Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell, Young Lust, ABitW Part 2) but the rest pretty much doesn't do it for me.

Great album. You should check out the MFSL Gold edition if you ever have the chance.
