I see you haven't heard real metal yet, it sure isn't heavy metal.

Alice in Chains was a glam band at one point. Stone and Jeff were in glam bands too.

Pantera is a great band, but just far too fucking angry at everything and nothing for me to listen to for anything beyond a novelty listen.

Pathetic show of appreciation in this thread right here.

Anyway, I've been listening to them today for the first time in a while and you know what..Reinventing the Steel really isn't a bad album at all. I always think of it as their least work (compared to the other stuff) but I put it on to hear Goddamn Electric and now find myself unable to change it over to something else.

Fuck everyone else. RTS is my favourite next to FBD. I can't stand Cowboys and I always thought Vulgar sounded shitty.

Reinventing is great. But if I have to pick, it's under all the rest.

Pantera was pretty much the greatest metal band ever. It's close between them and Metallica. Pantera just got heavier though with every album, which is like the reverse of what Metallica, or really any band does ever. Uncompromising, brutal heavy metal at it's best. Their home videos are the best thing to watch when you're hangin with the boys.

While I don't love them as much as Metallica or Megadeth, Pantera has been a favorite of mine since I first saw their "I'm Broken" video on Beavis & Butt-Head. The next day after that, I went and bought Far Beyond Driven on cassette.

My favorite album of theirs is probably Vulgar Display of Power, although all of them are pretty good. I think Reinventing the Steel is way under-rated.

Trendkill is my favorite. In retrospect, I may have been looking for them to top that one and it was pretty much impossible in my eyes. Not that I ever disliked RTS but I just forgot how awesome it is. Yesterday Don't Mean Shit, Death Rattle, there's some crazy stuff on here.

I guess it is pretty underrated.

This is a pretty true statement right here.
