So in late septemeber i got my house robbed and my camera got stolen, it was an older manual one but i liked it alot and i enjoyed experimenting with photography, but to replace it i bought a digital a few weeks ago and last night i had the great joy of realizing what a great tool this will become at concerts. Now I know they are not allowed, but I found a divine way to sneak them in, and next pj it will be there. Anyways, I go to Ohio State and every quarter they bring a big band or comedian here and students go for free. Last night I went to the Dashboard Confessional with Something Corporate show, Im not a huge fan, but Im not gonna lie, I like DC, and it was a pretty good show, and hey, it was free. So anyways it was in a big arena and i sat in the top section about 4 rows up directly across from the stage, but i was able to make a pretty good video of the one song i recorded, take some really nice pictures, and record two songs which sound a lot better then the pearl jam show in toledo i taped on a mini-recorder. So anyways, I would like to reccomend to people, these things are worth it for sure, and considering on the current disc i have i can record 3 hours of audio. Anyways, I just wanted to share, these things are good, probably old news to some of you, but im poor, however i found it to be a good investment and i cant wait to use it a show of a band i love.

I didn't take mine to either of the VFC shows I want to. I bought a stupid ass disposable camera and I was close to the stage, but when I got them developed they were horrible. The band looked like ants. I was so mad that I didn't just take my digital, but I remember reading somewhere that PJ allows cameras, but no flash. Is this true? I didn't want to get it taken away from me.

i think the official word from the band is no digital cameras, probably because they have a flash and and display screens that could disrupt other fan's experience. but that didnt stop me

the other thing about flashes (and any photographer would now this) is that if you are anywhere other than the front row...a flash is useless so you may as well turn it off rather than blind the band or other fans. your going to have to rely on the lighting and your exposure. i managed to get some good pics at boston 2 (althought i was quite a ways back with minimal zoom behind where the goal light would be at a hockey game) with no flash
