hahaha! I have faith in a Phoenix. This and Spielbergs new film about the terrorist kidnapping in Munich are on my must see list for the Oscar season.

Not too sure what to think about that jaquine (sp?) phoenix dude playing cash. this movie (story line) has a ton of potential, but the previews do not elude to the fact that they did johnny's story justice.

anything about cash couldn't possibly be rated pg-13 could it?

It looks good, or at least as good as it can look based on the trailer I saw last night during the World Series.

I think it looks good. From what I hear Pheonix learned to play guitar just for this role. He does all the singin, too.

I want to see this, but I think I'm saving it for next weekend. I'd like to go but there's no way I'm trying to deal with the Harry Potter crowd too.

The wife and I just got back. I thought the story was handled very well and the singing was strong. I think you'll enjoy it.

Ok, just got back from seeing it, and yes the Harry Potter fans were out in full force  Anyway it spans Johnny's life from childhood through the late 60s and his engagement to June Carter. Superb acting by both and I was amazed how much Joaquin Phoenix really resembles Johnny and acts like a badass as I'm sure the man himself was. Reese Withspoon also gives a great performence even though IMO she is much prettier than June was. Serioulsy, if you are a slight fan of the man or his music or even a music fan in general you should see it. Also they do a suprisingly good job at singing the songs which made them fresh for the film.

I thought it was a rather good movie. VERY strong performances by all the actors, and im surprised to hear that it was Pheonix singing the songs, wow.

Saw it last night. Great film. I'm biased being a huge Cash fan (and yes, before he put out "Hurt") The acting was great. The only problem was it was a bit lengthy in some areas, but overall the pace was great and a great movie going experience, and there is nothing more that I hate than going to the movies. Thank goodness for netflix.
