Robert Downey Jr as Poe...I could see him pulling it off. Based on a script written by Stallone...I think not.

I thought he was too busy killing the Rocky and Rambo series to do anything else.

I do think Sly is talented, but he hasn't written anything worthwhile since the early 80s.

it could be worse, he could be acting in it.

Are you saying his portrayal of John Spartan wasn't Oscar worthy?

Plus, in the early 80's he cowrote Staying Alive.

That's a fantastic idea!

What it should be:
Director: Tim Burton
Writer: Charlie Kaufman
Cast: Kevin Spacey (as Poe)
Johnny Depp
Scarlett Johansson
Bill Murray

Tim Burton should be the obvious choice to make a film about Poe or any film based on Poe's works.

So what? I'm sure he'd still do a great job. Especially if he filmed it in b&w, a la Ed Wood.

Only if Poe has razors for hands and stumbles out of a pub late at night to sculpt Lenore out of a nearby bush.

Come on, like you wouldn't pay to watch that? I know I would.
