Not really. Just another art deco piece to add to the pile of Yankee suck.
and another lame post to add to the pile of weak Yankee hating by the good folks at RM.
It's not like the Yanks are the only team doing this....

Any Yankee hating is good Yankee hating by the folks at RM. Besides it doesnt matter what other teams are doing. When the Yankees do it, it makes them suck more.

Check out the official yankees suck thread if you need to know more.
Still not an answer. I didn't realize asking you to explain your remark would be such an issue. Seriously, why create this thread in which all you did was point us to yet another thread in lieu of an actual response? Why not simply bump both of the Yankees sucks threads instead?

Good times.
Here is one more reason the Yankees suck. Their inflated payroll is making the organization loose money for the past couple years, and could total up to $85 million. Not to mention they undervalued their revenue from the YES network and will probably end up forking over another $20 million.
Despite drawing more than four million fans, the Yankees lost between $50 million and $85 million for the 2005 season, several Major League Baseball sources told the Daily News. The benefactors of baseball, who pumped more than $200 million into their payroll and almost $110 million into revenue sharing and luxury tax, are deep in the red this year.
Quote:
The Yankees currently charge the YES Network about $60 million a year to broadcast games, but the consultant is expected to say the rights are worth far more. If he does, that will mean the Yankees will be required to make up the difference and put more money into the revenue-sharing fund.
"They're going to owe us money," one MLB source predicted.
The extent of the Yankee losses won't be clear for months, after they finish the epically complicated task of analyzing revenues for their major and minor league operations and file their financial statements with the commissioner's office. Several sources said they believe the final number will be roughly $80 million when all is tallied. According to Forbes magazine, the Yankees lost $37.1 million in 2004.

Dude, it's all in good fun, just chill out, man This was a split topic from the baseball classic thread which actually made sense there until it was derailed into a "why do the yankees suck" topic, hence the split.

try to follow:
George owns the Yankees
George owns of YES
Yankees may have lost $85M
YES made MUCH MORE than that.
George makes out ok for the year.

The size of the Yankee losses, and GM Brian Cashman's announcement that the team is going to cut payroll, is rife with significance for the entire game.
This is what commissioner Bud Selig and owners (other than the Yankees') had in mind when they pushed for revenue sharing and a luxury tax in the current basic labor agreement. The Yanks' payroll is already down to around $160 million, and it is expected to end up in the $180 million-$185 million range. The top seat at the Stadium will cost $110 next season, a $20 increase. And no longer can agents assume that the Yankees will inflate the market for the best free-agent players.
If he is making out ok why is he increasing ticket prices so much and cutting payroll?

their attempt to "cut payroll" is more of a change in organizational philosophy than a financially motivated decision. And they raise ticket prices just about every year...

the top seat is going from $90 to $110. That is a pretty big jump.
