Anyone see the special they had dudes looking to meet and bang young boys and girls over the internet? they lured them to a house by posing as kids agreeing to let these guys come over to their house to bang? They would tell the guy to come into the house after graphic conversations with "kids" over the internet. The guys would show up to the house and the dateline guy would come in on them and confront them.

It was great seeing these pervs squirming when the dateling guy would question why they were there. It was disturbing and funny at the same time. Funny to see these guys trying to rationalize what they were there for. They ended up pretty much ruining the guys lives for it, as they should. great tv

yeah the naked guy, seemed really like a nasty, sick human being. Most of the others just seemed like pervs trying to get their rocks off , they needed jail. But Naked guy needed to institutionalized.

Yeah, if cops had done it ... maybe, maybe not ... but I don't think entrapment applies to news organizations.

They do this about once a month on one of the Milwaukee local tv news stations.

Just curious, why is it that on a show like Cops, they often hide the face of the people being arrested if they do not agree to sign an agreement to show them on television? Also, on a show like Taxicab confessions, they will not show these people unless they agree to it. Is it because these guys actually went voluntarily into someones home, and because of that the homeowners or Dateline for that matter had the right to show them and everything they said? Or is it that a show like Cops could actually show the people being arrested, but they choose not to without a contract because they risk being sued, and Dateline just doesn't worry about that so much?

If it is illegal, it should be made legal to stop these sick fucks.

i saw this a few times actually. i was wondering the same thing about the legality of it, but it must be legit b/c the police are taking action against these guys and using this show as evidence. but what stops me from doing this? can i pose as a little kid, invite older man over my house, and beat the shit out of them?

i don't think what NBC did was illegal as they are just embarassing people and exposing them as internet predators. Certainly if the cops did it, it could be construed as entrapment. I doubt the local jurisdiction could use the NBC material as their sole evidence to charge these people. But it certainly gives them a "watch list" of people to look out for.

It's sad that there are folks out there messed up enough to engage in this sort of activity.

It will be interesting to see if this stands up in court. I suppose it might, because even if cops can't do what the reporters did, the cops didn't tell them to do it. But then again, I don't know if that negates the evidence or not.
