I know I am. I am told it's the first show I'd watch with any regularity when I was a babe... instead of Sesame Street I was watching Bo Jackson. I'll wake up 2 hours before I need to on week days just so I can catch the full show at least once, usually twice. One day I watched the same SportsCenter episode six times. In case you were wondering, the Wizards won 137-96 and Gilbert Arenas dropped 32 points and had 7 assists.
Among my favorite moments:
"CAN HE HEAR ME? TELL HIM I CAN HEAR THIS! WHY DO I COME DOWN HERE?!"
-Charlie Steiner's laughing fits, among many others.
Anybody else hopelessly addicted to this show? Even though ESPN has been on a downward spiral, I will always love SC, even without Kenny Mayne and Keith Olberman.
I was about 7 or 8 years ago when it didn't suck. I liked when it was "the news" instead of "entertainment tonight".
There are a ton of things I wish weren't on there (faux news conferences, Stu Scott saying some poem to a Bengals clip, 50 states in 50 days etc...), but it's not nearly enough to counterbalance all of the actual sports footage they show.

I'd prefer highlights from more games and more highlights from games. A funny joke thrown in while playing the highlights is always nice, but it's not the point of the show. Back 2 basics.

Definitely my "go to" show, I can't remember the last day when I didn't see it.
Does anyone know why Kenny Mayne doesn't even do Sportscenter anymore? I mean, it seems that they just relegated him to the obscure stuff. The last time I remember seeing him on a consistent basis was when he was hosting Two Minute Drill (which was a great, great show). After that, the only time I can recall seeing him was for one of those 50 States in 50 days vignettes... I miss him on Sportscenter-- he was probably the funniest anchor.

i dont think mayne could touch kilborn. if they would just publiclly execute neil and stuart, the q factor of espn would raise once again

Maybe the Canada version is just better... it's pretty much just sports news, no entertainment stuff. The anchors do try to make it funny, and some of them do a great job, but it's clearly all about the sports. I love it.

I always liked Kilborn back in the day. I only check out the show for a quick highlight now. The guys at the desk are pretty annoying, and mostly unfunny, I rarely make it through a full show. I guess it is also that ESPN likes to focus on the ME ME ME side of sports, highlighting the showboating moments in games far too much.

i used to watch it pretty hardcore in highschool (about 10 years ago), but it just plain sucks anymore.

I finally have that channel now (:P) and I watch it all the time. I haven't tuned into Sportscenter in years.
