the story takes place in georgia and is about a 17-year-old african american man who was a top student and top athlete in college. he had oral sex with a 15-year-old white girl and got the minimum of 10 years in jail because she is a minor under state law.
i cannot find a story right now but i saw it covered on MSNBC. i'll keep looking. does anyone know about it?

I don't think the law differentiates between who is being pleasured. Strike that. Sometimes it does, but I doubt it in this case.
yea, he was getting oral sex, and got 10 years. i hope it was good.
this just strikes me as utterly ridiculous though.

guys i really don't want us to argue too much if we're relying on only what i've seen on msnbc. but i can't find a story on this.
i think i heard there was a videotape of it, basically proving that it happened, and the minimum sentence for this type of thing is 10 years. which would mean georgia law is all messed up.

I’m not sure if it is the same people but Realsports on HBO aired a similar story earlier this year. That story ended well as the sentence was appealed and eventually reduced to time served. The kid ended playing football at Grambling or another black college.
Edit: Here is an article about the kid from the HBO show. Its probably the same kid you're talking about.

Making a video tape... I guess that would be the first mistake...

Apparently, when I was 17-19 I was risking some serious jail time.
