my suggestion would be to enter the room with a high powered flashlight. wave it around a bit to confuse the bat. catch it in a butterfly net. release it back to the wild from which it came. find out how that fucker got in there and seal up the hole with either caulk or duct tape. sleep peacefully.

I had a problem with bats last year at my parents house. I lived in the basement and they were finding ways down through the wall into my room. There was about a 6 month span where I couldn't sleep because I was listening subconsiously for bats flapping.... yuck
Anyway we eventually called an exterminator (after the 5th or so bat) and the exterminator said that we could have between 100 and 2000 bats living in our eves and attic
needless to say it was time to move out...
