How quickly ESPN people forget.

Oh, yeah, they still haven't beaten Texas yet. Can we stop talking about how great they are when they beat Notre Dame on sheer luck and a prayer and haven't really played anyone else that's that good?

This team would not beat 79 Alabama and certainly not any of the mid 90's Nebraska teams. Niether would they beat Florida State and Charlie Ward or Notre Dame when they were good and certainly not the great National Championship hurricane teams.

They have a few really really good players, but they are NOT the best TEAM of all time their defense couldn't hold the jocks of even last years USC team. Please spare us the mindless drivel and hype Mark May. Auburn would have given the last years team 10 times the game of Oklahoma with their no knees QB.

I agree. I can only speak for teams that I've watched. There's no way they beat Tommy Frazier's NU teams or Dorsey's Canes.

The offense is better, the defense is markedly worse.

They are a lot bigger and faster than the 79 Bama team, gotta remember that. I think you can only honestly compare them to teams that had players of relatively the same size and speed, like the 90s teams. Nebraska would have annihilated them.

in my lifetime, the best I've seen was the mid 90's Nebraska powerhouse. The only team that comes close is maybe the Miami team from a few years back that had all the first round picks.

Either of those teams would beat USC IMO.

USC's favorite wrestler was Eddie Guerrero. Cheat 2 Win.

That Nebraska team absolutely crushed a very very very talented offensive Florida team that year. Yeah I should not really say Alabama or any of the 80's teams since the 90's are most of what I remember.

I'm by no means saying they (USC) aren't awesome, I mean wow they are a hell of a ball club, but this whole every year hearing about how this team is the best anyones ever seen.........it's just overused the hype machine bores me.

I've seen some vulnerability in Texas, but if they come with their best game Texas has a more complete team than USC this season, Texas defense is better than USC and they've gotten no talk or credit the whole month. Mack Brown and big game usually means meltdown, somehow I don't think that's the case this time. Texas was awesome in Pasadena last year, I expect more of the same.

Your aggies looked great against them. To bad the fast RB got hurt early. I really liked the QB too.

From the looks of that picture #30 of ND should have gone in there and crushed Leinart.

I think the NU 94 and 95 teams, the PSU 94 team and the Dorsey Hurricanes teams all beat USC.

To ESPN, enough already with the USC hype. Its as bad as the Vick and LeBron hype......but at least USC won a title last year.

To be fair lebron has been more interesting, classy and has actually performed on the court, Vick has sucked balls for the most part and I'm about as big an appologist as you'll find on this board.

I put it like this... The '95 Nebraska team beat their opponents by 39 points a game. They were only trailing twice the whole year. No game was even remotely close because of the strength of their offense and defense. If USC had somewhat of a defense I would say it would be a close game, but it wouldn't.

no way are they a better team than the husker and hurricane teams that won the title. and i think the 96 gators would shred their defense.
