It's sad, and I hate that it has to come to this, but I've exhausted my music supply.
Before I came I went on a massive downloading binge of new music (4000 songs), and I've now decided that it's time for new music. The last downloading binge brought me some great new finds, such as Beulah, Grandaddy, Iron and Wine, Drive by Truckers, Trail of Dead, and others. But now I feel as though I need some new music.
I've tried some of the bands that have been talked about a lot on the board as of late: Porcupine Tree, Death From Above 1979, Explosions in the Sky...and that kinda stuff...it's just not jiven.
So if anybody could lead me in a original rockin' direction, I'd be very much appreciative. I'm thinking a Sparklehorse, Grandaddy, Neutral Milk Hotel, Swearing at Motorists kind of direction. Rockin', but different, and not too fruity.

I think the stuff zeb suggested is good, at least what I'm familiar with, Spoon, Ryan Adams, The Black Keys, Will Oldham/Bonnie Prince Billy, ect.
I'll add:
Bright Eyes, I love I'm Wide Awake It's Morning, folksy, earnest vocals
Franz Ferdinand, rock/britpop, I think it's a pretty easy listen. Driving beat and guitars.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, their first two albums, think Sonic Youth/ The Jesus and Mary Chain, Howl is a bit different, blues gospel in the vein of the White Strips
Wolf Parade, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire also good. Also Wilco, I love Wilco.
This all a have for now, you may be familiar with some of them all ready. I hope it helps.
