I have never seen a Leone film (only parts and never very closely) until I watched A Few Dollars More early tonight. I think I'm going to have to buy this tomorrow.

the first two films in that trilogy (of sorts) are both pretty damn decent, but the crown jewel is obviously the good, the bad, and the ugly.
i'm surprised you've never seen it, actually.

Not really, considering that Few Dollars More is a remake of Fistful.

Everyone should do themselves a favour and watch Yojimbo.

If you're gonna watch Yojimbo, you might as well throw in Sanjuro as well. It's better.

Get Once Upon a Time in the West. It's his best film and the special edition disc is only 9 bucks or so. Watch it on the biggest screen you can find.

Once Upon a Time In America is also a very good movie. It's long and has its dull parts, but ultimately I think its well worth a viewing.

3 excellent westerns, but certainly not the 3 best.

High Noon is the best western ever made, but Once Upon a Time in the West is not far behind.

It's a sequel, not a remake. The plots are very different.

I don't know man...there's been so many great westerns over the years. Stagecoach, Shane, Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wayes, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance...at the very least one of the above would squeeze For a Few Dollars More out of the top 3?

No.

But in all fairness, I could see For a Few Dollars More not being in there, but I'm very firm on GBU and OUATITW. But Unforgiven and Josey Wales don't come anywhere close For a Few Dollars More.

I guess you and I just like different things within the western genre. Que sera, sera.

The  , which you left out, implied a joke, of sorts.

In any case, w/o Yojimbo, no Man w/o a Name, no Monco -- at least, as we know the character.
