Thought it'd make an interesting topic, not just your typical "favorite album closers" thread. So, here are mine:

1. The Velvet Underground- "Sister Ray" (17:27)
2. Spiritualized- "Cop Shoot Cop..." (17:13)
3. Sonic Youth- "The Diamond Sea" (19:35)
4. Yo La Tengo- "Night Falls on Hoboken" (17:42)

Explosions in the Sky - "Your Hand In Mine" (Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place)
My Bloody Valentine - "Soon" (Loveless)

At 8, 8 and 7 minutes. :? Sorry in advance for ruining the thread.

Every metal album ever recorded has an epic 10 minute closer by standard.

More good ones:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "Motherfucker=Redeemer"

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "Antennas to Heaven"

M83 - "Beauties Can Die"

Sigur Ros - "Untitled 8" (off (), my favorite SR album, the last half of which has been slowly growing on me)

Experimental Audio Research
- "Guitar Feedback Manipulation"

Larval - "One Day I Just Kept On Walking" (I kind of forgot about this band until today, a symphonic rock type outfit. I own thier album Obedience, which isn't all that great, but this song, the closer, is fucking incredible. And that is one of the coolest song names for a closer, ever.)

edit: was hard to read. ps check out that Larval song, its good!

Speaking of drums, I'm listening to Manitoba - "Every Time She Turns Around It's Her Birthday" (Up In Flames), which is an 8 minute closer with spectacular drumming. In fact, the entire album has really good drumming. Drums very rarely catch my attention, and I mean very rarely, but they do on this album.
