High points, his rich description of this visit to a nondescript bar where he inadvertently learns to sing again, due to a jazz singer and the natural flow this artist possessed. The description of New Orleans, death is always hovering around, is a must read and how Literature influenced him was interesting as well.

It's great. You don't have a be a fan of Dylan's music, but you have to be interested in the man himself to really appreciate the book. Its mostly him bumming around New York City in the early 1960s before the decade really exploded.
Actually, I haven't read the entire thing. I recieved it as an xmas gift last year and have been opening up random pages and reading them occasionally. I don't think it requires a linear read if you're familiar with Dylan, its that kind of material. It's interesting, I've enjoyed what I've read.

Dylan's description of New Orleans is one of my favorite parts of the book. I've spent some time there and when I was reading those few pages I felt like I was back there walking the empty streets late at night.

Some parts of his discription seemed almost poetic, just tapped right into the cities essence.
