Very ridiculous, but just as ridiculous as people being scared of two giant tablets with ten rules on them. The things people are offended by these days.

I had neighbours who were Christian when I was a kid, and I recall one year when Halloween was on a Sunday, they posted a note on their door explaining why they weren't giving out candy, but to please come back tomorrow.

Jeez. Jews don't complain when Halloween is on a Friday night. But then again, many of the Jews in my neighborhood just kept their front light off and didn't answer the door no matter what day Halloween fell on.
See, it's the Christians who encourage this paganism anyway.

LAME. Kids don't know the difference anyway... as far as their concerned, Halloween is a time for dressing up and getting free candy. The only reason I'm pissed that it's on a Sunday is because I have to get up for school the next day.

Uh, you know, if black people had a thing against Halloween because it fell on an African holiday, you guys wouldn't be talking so much shit. Who cares? If people don't want to celebrate it, fine. If they want to protest it, fine. It may be stupid, but this is America, we have rights that protect stupid people.

What else would you expect from religious zealots?

Get over yourselves.
Yourself included.
The idea that the "night of the devil" falls on a Sunday disturbs these people, but Tuesday is OK? What the fuck? I've never heard anything with less sense in my life.

What are you talking about? The kids get confused! The woman explained this very clearly:
"You just don't do it on Sunday," said Sandra Hulsey of Greenville, Georgia. "That's Christ's day. You go to church on Sunday, you don't go out and celebrate the devil. That'll confuse a child."
Here's a recap:
Sunday: Christ's day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: Devil's Day.

Not that anything else a kid might learn on Christ's Day might confuse him...

Outstanding! Celebrating the devil is ok as long as it's not on sunday if you're a Christian
I don't answer my door anyway, unless I'm expecting someone
