Virginia Tech kicks Marcus Vick off football team
By HANK KURZ Jr., AP Sports Writer
January 6, 2006
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick was dismissed from the team Friday, the result of numerous legal transgressions and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Gator Bowl.
University president Charles Steger announced the dismissal on the same day that coach Frank Beamer met with Vick and his mother in their Hampton Roads home, the school said. Beamer informed them of the decision during the meeting.

But I thought he accidentally kicked the defensive player from Louisville and that it was just a part of football . . . I feel for him. He's very misunderstood.

In all seriousness, I don't feel bad for Marcus. If the cheap shot was the only negative thing he has done then it would be too stiff of a penalty, but we all know that he hasn't been a saint off the field either. It sucks reading my local paper and seeing alumni writing letters to the editor complaining about the thug behavior of our team, when there are very few players like that. And it sucks seeing Michael Wilbon talking about how it seems every week Tech does something to embarass itself, when that is definitely not the case. Hopefully now with Marcus gone we can keep winning football games without people questioning the morals and ethics of our football team.

You're kidding right? I don't feel one bit sorry for him. He's brought everything upon himself. I saw the play and there was nothing accidental about it. He looked down at the player and then purposely stomped on his leg. It was one of the lowest things I've seen in all of sports.

So does he go into the draft? If so who drafts this kid?
I think he should go to 1-AA (preferably a school that plays some 1-A schools) and reform himself if that's even possible. Although the odds of an NFL team taking a chance on him are probably just as good now as they will be a year from now so he might enter the draft anyway.
My bet is he goes to NFL Europe for a season or two and if he's successful and stays out of trouble, he'll end up in the NFL. Maybe he can play in the Arena Football League.

his brother makes enough money for him to not give a shit and act however he pleases. This clown will never amount to anything more than a rich athlete's deadbeat brother.
