Now that K-Rock has become FreeFM, where can we listen to PJ songs during the week? K-Rock was always good for a few PJ songs each day. Mostly Black, Daughter and Betterman.

I've tried Jack 101.1 but have yet to hear a PJ song there. Does anyone know a station in the NYC metro area that plays PJ on a consistent basis?

Thanks!

I refuse to listen to my local radio stations since there is only one station that plays modern rock, but relies heavily on classic rock. This station rarely plays pearl jam and when it does it's almost always "Jeremy," "Alive," or "Even Flow." (I had to laugh when this station sponsored our recent PJ concert.) I have resorted to listening to my own CD collection whenever I'm in my car.

At least my satellite radio at home offers some more recent PJ content like "Corduroy," "In Hiding" and "Hail, hail" without the annoying commercials. I can't wait until satellite radio is a standard feature in all cars.

For such a big city, NYC radio sorta sucks. I gave up on 92.3 a few years ago, they had Stern in the morning who I couldn't (can't) stand and then started playing all the nu-metal trash the rest of the time; I don't know what they're like now, but I haven't gone back. I just listend to the classic stuff on Q104.3 mostly, they throw in some PJ every now and again, but mostly it's your typical classic rock fare.

it's a sad state of affairs for rock on the radio in NYC. occassionally you'll hear PJ on Q104.3, even rarer would be 107.1 which tends to play a lot of crap but might play the PJ ballads. if you can get the signal out in NJ... 105.5 WDHA does play PJ and a nice mix of new and old but it's signal is seriously like 10 miles. They broadcast out in NJ near Morristown but I ALWAYS get a bad signal and I'm only like an hour or so north of them.

I live in Montville which is pretty close to Morristown, so I should be able to get 105.5 I'll check it tonight. I'll also check out Q104. Thanks for the feedback!

K-Rock only played PJ recently when they went back to an all rock station that that crap they played for the past few years, now they switched to FreeFM (but still play music on the weekend, but the station sucks and has sucked for years) Q104.3 is the best station in the area, they play PJ everynow and then so that is the only station i listen too but even that is not much with my iPod...

As for WDHA, i live in Wayne and get good service but when I drive to my gym (in Bulter) it craps out for a bit... but i dont recall too much PJ on their station...

I listen a lot to 105.5 and they play a good amount of Pearl Jam. Typical stuff such as Alive, Jeremy, etc. but they also do throw in a lot of live cuts and stuff such as I Got ID, Glorified G, etc. I also remember they used to play Eddie doing Growin Up from Holmdel. A solid station for PJ if you can get the signal in NJ.

if you are looking for a station during the day you are better off with something like lauchcast.

If you search you can find decent streaming stations like WEQX from Manchester Vermont.

If you are really adventurous you can listent to KEXP in Seattle, but you won't hear any Pearl Jam there.

some of the jersey shore stations (106.3) and the philly stations are quite good about playing pearl jam but I'm not sure how well they come in in NYC

I listen to 107.1 "the peak" a lot, but I think you can only get it in Bergen County, NJ. They play a fair amount of PJ, considering, although about 50% of it is Yellow Ledbetter. 105.5 never comes in up by me.

As far as PJ airplay goes, k-rock has pretty much sucked balls since they took on the 'modern-rock' format. Actually, I'm wrong...they pretty much sucked overall. They were hot on GTF and Wishlist when Yield came out...but like all other recent albums, gradually went back to playing the hits from only Ten thru Vitalogy. I'm hoping that now Q104 will go back to their 'pure-rock' format pre-1996 when they switched w/ 92.3. That was the best f'ing station...probably won't happen though.
