Alright, bit of a long story here. I did a painting in my art class, and my teacher decided to send it to these Scholastic Art Awards in Ohio, sponsored by the Cleveland Institute of Art. She really didn't tell me much about it, I just had to sign a form. Her exact words "we're going to send it ,see if it wins anything." There were some other art works from my school sent too.
About a month ago, most of the other works were sent back to the school, because they didn't win anything. Mine, and one other student's was not sent back, because apparently they might have won an award. I guess there's honorable mention, Silver Key, and Gold Key, (Gold Key is the highest you can get, I guess).
So today, my teacher gets the results back. My work won a Gold Key. Yay, great for me, I'm happy...But I hardly know a damn thing about the whole awards thing. My teacher's essentially kept me in the dark on the whole thing, not on purpose I'm sure, but nontheless. I don't know where the work was sent exactly, when I'll get it back, how I'll get this award, anything. I just found out today I won a Gold Key, which is the highest honor you can get. Is there money involved? No clue. Where is the painting right now? I don't know.
Does ANYONE (who lives in Ohio), know anything about this? I've tried doing internet searches, but nothing of significance has come up. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'll take a picture of the painting and post it here if I ever fucking get it back.
