Ok for those of you who enjoy to cook, this is a thread to share some of your best recipes. I for one live alone, but still like to eat decent food instead of KD and hot dogs every night. But sometimes you get sick of making the same old things

Please keep sarcastic remarks to a minimum, this thread could be a helpful resource...


So I'll start it with a recipe for tuna casserole, (I made it last night)

Bizarro-tuna casserole

2 cans of tuna
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 bag of rippled potato chips
1 medium sized onion (chopped finely)
3/4 cup of peas
2/3 cup of milk
5-6 hard boiled eggs (sliced)

mix mushroom soup with milk and a pinch of garlic powder and black pepper

Grease a casserole dish with butter or margerine, then line the bottom with crushed chips.

put 1/3 of the tuna over this, then 1/3 of the onion, 1/3 of peas. and 1/3 of sliced eggs. Pour 1/3 of soup mixture over this.

then repeat steps, chips/tuna/onion/peas/eggs/soup
then repeat again chips/tuna/onion/peas/eggs/soup (3 layers of ingredients)

top with a final layer of crushed chips

bake in oven at 350 F for 25-30 minutes

1 Box of Brownie Mix

½ Ounce of Marijuana

Directions-Add water and weed to brownie mix. set oven at 375 and cook for 25 mins. don’t drive after eating.

Don't you have to cook the weed in the oil first?

Don't you have to cook the weed in the oil first?
ive heard people do this, but you dont have to

Rapscallion's Barb-Q Pork


probably get 2 pounds of pork loin....chop it up into cubes.

throw it into a tupperware bowl.

pour in about half a litre of 7-UP into the bowl.

chop up about 4 cloves of garlic.

put garlic, a table spoon of pepper, and 3/4th cup of soy sauce into bowl.

mix up pork and ingredients in the bowl and marinate overnight in the fridge.

get some skewers and soak them in water overnight.

skewer the pork and grill with charcoal.

grill until pork a nice brownish red....enjoy it bitches!!!

Ugly Mexican Chicken

1lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 package of taco seasoning
1/2 jar of salsa
4oz cream cheese (1/2 a package)
green chilies
jalapenos
shredded cheese
sour cream

preheat oven to 350

place chicken in baking pan. Top with seasoning and shredded cheese. Combine salsa, cream cheese, chilies, and jalapenos. Top with a bit more of the shredded cheese. Bake for 30 minutes. Garnish with sour cream.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I have a decent recipe to work with this time. It's a Northern Irish speciality - champ. Enjoy!

You will need:

About 4oz scallions (spring onions)
1/3 pint milk (About three and a half Floz)
7 decent sized potatoes (I recommend Comber spuds but it's unlikely you'll be able to get your hands on them)
3oz butter

What to do:

Peel and boil potatoes in salted water. While they're boiling cut the roots and tips off the spring onions, then chop into thin slices.

When potatoes are boiled, take them off the heat, drain them, add 2/3s of the butter, then some milk to taste.

Throw in the spring onions and give it a big stir. Add some more milk if desired, then leave the remaining butter to slowly melt over the top.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

What to eat it with:

Use in place of regular, boring mash. It's traditionally eaten with sausages and bacon, plus a dollop of sauce.

What to drink with it:

Guinness. Obviously.

You guys should use heavy cream instead of milk, and add some cream cheese to your mashed taters. Makes em more creamy and smoothy.
I always add garlic too 8)

GREAT THREAD. I tried this a long time ago. Never took. I hope this continues!

Crostini with Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto
Ingredients
One loaf french or italian bread, fresh
4 oz. Sun-dried tomatoes in oil
Butter flavored cooking spray
1 large clove of garlic
1 bunch of fresh basil
3 tablespoons walnuts

Prep
1. Drain sun-dried tomatoes from oil. (You can reserve the oil and use it for cooking later.) Put the tomatoes and other ingredients in food processor. Just remove the large stems from the basil. Pulse until well chopped and mixed.
2. Slice bread at an angle, about 1-inch thick. Coat each side with cooking spray. Toast to desired darkness in oven at about 350 degrees.
3. Put pesto on toast and enjoy!

i'm a big fan of replacing both the butter and milk/cream with sour cream in my mashers. oh yes. and some roasted garlic (like, a head's worth) never hurts.

one of my absolute favorite recipes for chicken.

1 broiler/fryer chicken, cut up as for frying (8 pieces)
40 cloves of garlic, peeled from their paper
4-5 sprigs of thyme
salt & fresh ground pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1 loaf french bread, sliced

0. preheat oven to 350F
1. in a skillet with an oven safe lid, season the chicken breasts with salt & pepper and sear them over high heat, a couple minutes a side, until the skin is crispy.
2. add the garlic and oil to the pan (spread the cloves around wherever there's room and dump the oil on top). add more pepper if desired. drop the thyme on top
3. cover and move the whole thing into the oven for 90 minutes
4. after 90 minutes, remove the chicken and place bread rounds under broiler until crispy, about a minute or so.
5. using a brush, spread the pan drippings onto the bread, then with a fork, mash & spread a garlic clove onto each slice of bread. add parm cheese if desired

Scrambled Tofu Migas

You'll need:
1 medium onion, diced
1 tablespoon or so EVOO
3 plum tomatoes, diced
14 oz. can pureed tomatoes (I used diced tomatoes with jalepenos and it was very good)
4 oz. can green chilies
1 block tofu, drained and blotted
1 teaspoon cumin
3 tortillas (flour or corn is fine)
Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Salsa and Sour Cream (optional)

To make:

1. Heat up oil in large skillet. Toss in onions and saute until beginning to brown.
2. While onions cook, cut tofu into about 1/2 inch slabs and then blot. Dice up into cubes. Add all ingredients except cheese to skillet. Cover and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
3. Shower your concoction with cheese. I use a whole bag of shredded cheese. Cover again and cook until cheese is melted. You can top this with salsa, sour cream and/or jalepenos for some zing.

This recipe reheats really well and only takes about 20-25 minutes to make from start to finish.

Here's a really easy one...

1 whole chicken (3-4 lbs.)
1 lemon
1/2 cup of honey
1/2 cup of O.J.

take your lemon, pierce it a few times all around with a fork. Stuff it into the cavity of the chicken. Place chicken into a crock pot/slow cooker.

Add honey and O.J. into crock pot/slow cooker.

Go to work/school...

...Come home and enjoy ;)
