I dug out my copy of Blackwater Park last night and it is amazing

Oh yea! They're very good :)

If you haven't already, you should check out their lastest Damnation. It's a fantastic album with some beautifully crafted songs.

Still life is their Swansong. No band has ever melded such sweet melodies with excellent Nordic/Celtic metal. Benighted is the best song ever!

However, Mikael has mentioned that they will be getting a little more black on their next release so I may be speaking prematurely.

that was my first one.

and after I got that, I couldnt find it anymore.

Still Life is my favorite from them


I've heard all of their albums, and like them all alot, but I only have Still Life, Blackwater Park, and Deliverance. All of them are awesome albums.

I've just recently started listening to OPETH and love them. I first bought Blackwater Park and it just blew my mind. I have all their albums now except for Orchid.

You're both like 12 really right? Your opinion is yours but at least you could sound a little less like a couple of morons expressing it...

What makes you think they suck? Their knack for writing a catchy heavy melody? Their tasteful acoustic/mellow sections? Ackerfeldts awesome gutterals or his pleasantly gentle natural voice? The slight jazz tinged drumming of Martin Mendez or the laid back groove that Martin Lopez holds down on bass?

Again, I respect your opinion, I just happen to think it's wrong and I assume that you don't have a good reason or you would have stated one .
