Anyone here read the Prey novels? I started reading them early in the year and am devouring it. At first I figured it would be a typical Cop hunt Killer, but the writing has been great. Great main character as well.

Anyways, just curious on if anyone has read the series.

I've read quite a few of them. I've read like the first 6 or 7 of the series. It's not a bad set of novels. It's pretty easy entertaining reading so it's nice set when you don't want to have to think too much.

Yeah, I agree that it isn't thought provoking reading, nor should it be, I suppose.

And yes, Lucas Davenport is one of the best characters I have read about in awhile. I am probably 7 books in to the series and keep going back for more. The only book that got me out of the prey sequence was Empire State by Henry Porter...really good book!!

Let me ask, did you (collective you) read from book one or start somewhere in the middle?

I read one that was in the middle of the series and then after that went back to the first Prey book and started reading them in the order they were released.

He writes them so that you don't really have to read them in order to understand what's going on, but he does allude to previous books so there are some subtle things to pick up on. It really makes Davenport a more developed character.
