Well I have never seen this one and I must say it is not a good one... The writer has no idea what the band is all about instead trying to portray them as commercial icons which they are not!

TAKE A LOOK

every adjective, metaphor, and simile in the world is in this piece of garbage. this is why i for the most part hate reading reviews. i don't care that the guy doesn't like the album...but fuck, I can't even make it through a sentence without forgetting what the hell he's talking about...the longest sentence has 70 fuckin words! the shortest sentence has 18 words.

On "No Code," Eddie Vedder's
incandescence takes a back seat
to his band's canned flash

Well, this guy has his right to his opinion. That's good. I love No Code and all things Pearl Jam. I can't sell everyone my opinion. I can do what I can, but I can't convert all. Much like I couldn't convert everyone to vote for John Kerry and convert to Christianity. But hey, that's life.

Anyway, I respect his opinion. I think there are three kinds of Pearl Jam critics:

1. The critic who respects them and offers a fair review.
2. The critic who detests them and goes out of his way to make material sound worse than it is.
3. The critic who likes the material, but is ashamed to like material that was made by someone who made it big and on a major label, therefore, they get a more mediocre review.

But I guess the same could be applied to any major label band that's had some success.

God bless,

Jared

Couldn't he have at least read the liner notes or something? He keeps calling Mike Mike McReady

"The punk tempos that drive both songs seem forced in the hands of show off-y hacks like Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Mike McReady"

I think I may fucking kill him. I don't care if it's from 1996 or not. Hacks? Time to buy and load up a gun.

Fast forward to 2004 and this guy is saying 'Brittney Spears rerelease of old school Bobby Brown tracks are pure genius."
